Building a house… of God

The fires that destroyed Margery Kusulas’s home
A 93-year-old woman in Arvada, Colorado, lost her house to a fire earlier this year, but she has now gained a church.
On Feb. 24, sparks from a train started the fire in Arvada. High winds pushed the flames across Margery Kusulas’s property and burned her house.
The Union Pacific Railroad paid her for the damage, which helped her realize her life-long dream of having a church on her property.

“Years ago I stood out here and I called this Mount Zion from what I had heard in the past, so I would think, ‘I’ve got to have a church here some day.’ And so when the fire happened I had the money to do it,” she said.
She’s been living in a motor home on her property since June 13 and hopes to be in her new home by the end of the week.
The new home is in the basement of the church, which will be named Mount Zion Church.

What an amazing and loving story. Beauty for ashes.
It reminds me of a story a friend of ours just shared. The wife was at the hospital for her daughters hysterectomy. An elderly gentlemen in the next room started talking to her. He was there because he had fallen, hit his head and broken his ribs.He told her a little about himself, gave her a book he had written and prayed with her. He believed that God allowed him to fall and hit his head and break his ribs just for this day to meet and pray for her. What a story. That some one would see God’s opportunity in the midst of their disaster. I must admit, that I don’t always see that viewpoint.
Where one door closes another opens, thank you Jesus!
