The Christian “Netflix”

A long time ago, actually not that long ago, one had to leave the comforts of one’s home to go to the video library and rent movies. That all changed when a few years back Netflix began their online DVD rental service, a service that made them a household name.

The main problem with Netflix is that they lack some of the more obscure, but worth watching Christian/faith based movies that are available. Not only that but as any parent knows, choosing movies can be a nightmare experience, especially if you choose less-than-appropriate ones. And that’s where a company like Christian Cinema comes in handy.

The Christian Cinema website is very well laid out, and for each title they have listed the rating, genre, and most titles have at least one user comment. What I like most though is that Christian Cinema doesn’t just have movies for rent, they have many awesome documentaries and powerful study DVD’s such as the popular Nooma series.

Packages start at around $7.99 per month which allows you to rent one movie at a time, with ascending rental fees for you to rent more if you like. Click here to see their pricing plans.

I love Christian movies and have a huge collection, but I must admit I have bought some duds in the past. If only they’d had something like this a few years ago when I began collecting I may have saved myself a ton of money!

However, this service is only available in the US at present and is a great way to see all of the great Christian movies out there without having to empty your wallet to do so. For those of us north of the border (in Canada) or even further afield, we’ll have to buy what we want to watch, but Christian Cinema have many great deals at good prices!
